Jean Foillard, Morgon Cuvée Corcelette 2021 – 6 bottles OCB (In-Bond)

1 In stock

Produced from 80 year old vines in a lieu-dit named Corcelette. A lighter touch for Beaujolais, crisp red fruits, raspberry and cherry, with tons of minerality on the finish. Jean Foillard was one of the ‘Gang of Four’ alongside Guy Breton, Marcel Lapierre and Anthony Thevenet.

“The 2021 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette comes from vines averaging 50-years in age, this vineyard suffering less reduction in volume than others due to the sandy soils. It is aged in used barrels for around 9 months. It has a quite compelling and complex bouquet, with raspberry and wild strawberry, rose petal and light chalky scents. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, finely chiseled and lending tension. The acidity keeps this taut, focused, and quite minerally towards the leaner-than-usual finish. There’s moderate length with fine salinity. Bon vin. Drink 2024-2036.” – Neal Martin, (March 2023)
